How To Make It In America? Right & Wrong
The video we watched in class, how to make it in America is a very good example of people starting either a clothing business or a retail business. First, one thing I think they did right was to just buy off the whole denim material and having the idea of making their own denim jacket and then trying to sell those jacket into the market starting from small. Personally, I think a lot of young artist or designers are doing this. They come up with ideas and try to sell them on Internet or stores. When they are getting stable with their business, they will start becoming famous and people from around the globe will want to do business with the company. But after all, you will need to do research and to start off the business strong. What I think they did wrong? The only one thing is, how could people be doing thing with no plans? Before starting a business or creating something, such as, clothes or shoes. You need to have a plan and knowing how you are going to do. Those guys had no plans at all, no money, nothing but debt. I really think making those denim jackets and creating your own brand and business is an amazing thing, a dream come true. But without plans on how things are really going to be or knowing the process of this business work. No matter you are a professional or not, you need to understand or have the knowledge of how the business you are going into and what sort of problems you could really have and knowing how to prevent or deal with it. It’s a brilliant idea those guys just buy off the denim instead of selling those made denim jacket. After all, it was an interesting video.
